Gerald Smith - Trust Manager
Gerald graduated MA in Philosophy from St. Andrews University (including University of California, Berkeley in 1982/83) and B.Phil in Philosophy from Brasenose College, Oxford in 1986. He joined Baillie Gifford in 1987 and became a Partner in 1998. Gerald was head of the Emerging Markets Equity Team until the end of 2008, at which time he moved to the head of the Global Opportunities Team. Gerald is Chief Investment Officer and is a member of the Investment Advisory Group.
Robert O'Riordan - Investment Trust Development Director
Robert is a graduate in English from the University of Kent at Canterbury and a Fellow of the Securities Institute. He joined Baillie Gifford in 2001 after a career in stockbroking in Scotland with Bell Lawrie White and Stocktrade. He has responsibilities for investment trust communications, helping with the strategic development of the investment trust business and for relationships with Boards, shareholders, the City and the media.
Lindsey Beattie - Head of Investment Trust Accounting
Lindsey graduated MA in History in 1981 from Edinburgh University, followed by a Diploma in Accounting from Heriot Watt University the following year. She qualified as a CA with Ernst & Young in 1985 and, after working as an investment accountant for Investors Capital Trust plc, joined Baillie Gifford in 1986. Lindsey heads up the Baillie Gifford Investment Trust Accounting and Secretarial Department. She was a member of the AIC SORP review working party.
