Project Analyst
Information Systems Department
"A benefit of working at Baillie Gifford is the opportunities you get to widen your knowledge of the business by moving between departments..."
I currently work as Project Analyst within the Information Systems Department. My role is to carry out and provide support to the project management and business analysis functions within the Application Development section of the department. The department has grown significantly over the last two years and is continuing to do so which means there are always fresh challenges. My responsibilities include:
I joined Baillie Gifford in March 1995 as an Investment Administrator within the Institutional Clients Accounting Department and moved on in 1998 to be a Systems Administrator within that department. A benefit of working at Baillie Gifford is the opportunities you get to widen your knowledge of the business by moving between departments and I did that in September 2001 when I moved into the UK Equity Investment Team as an Investment Assistant. This provided me with extensive knowledge of the front office side of the business, complementing my knowledge of the back office accounting and reporting side. In these latter two roles I thoroughly enjoyed involvement in many systems related projects and after five years in the UK Equity Team I moved to my current role in June 2006. I am thoroughly enjoying this role, working with both developers and users, being involved in many phases of the project life cycle and learning yet more about various aspects of the business.
