The value of shares in Scottish Mortgage, and any income from them, can fall as well as rise and investors may not get back the amount invested.
The AGM of Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust took place on 25 June 2020. The board takes the safety and wellbeing of shareholders very seriously and, in light of the Covid-19 guidance from the UK and Scottish Governments at the time, unfortunately shareholders were not permitted to attend in person.
Please find below a link to a report of the business of the day which includes a transcript from the chair; AGM voting results; and answers to shareholder questions that were submitted in advance of the meeting.
Joint managers Tom Slater and James Anderson recorded presentations to accompany the AGM results. In his presentation, Slater highlighted some of the companies in the Scottish Mortgage portfolio that are capitalising on the new economic infrastructure, now dominated by the large digital platform companies. Anderson discussed the end of the carbon age, and how private companies provide access to new industries, that have little or no representation in public markets. To accompany the presentations, each manager answered questions posed by corporate strategy director, Catharine Flood.
