Yes, you can apply for more than one opportunity. However, we encourage you to research the options carefully and choose the opportunities that best matches your skills and interests.

A cover letter is not a mandatory requirement unless the job description specifically asks for one. However, we welcome cover letters and encourage you to upload one if you’d like to tell us more about your experience, motivation, or anything else that could support your application.
Should you choose to use AI tools to support your application, we ask that you do this thoughtfully. We encourage you to ensure your application reflects your own voice, experience, and motivations. We value authenticity and want to understand your individual strengths and perspectives.

Yes. You can withdraw your application through the online application system. If you have already been contacted by a resourcing specialist, you can also let them know directly.
Recruitment Process
For most roles, the interview process will involve two stages, and we aim to meet candidates in person at both stages. If that might be an issue, we encourage you to speak with your Resourcing Specialist.
Typically, our interviews include critical -skills-based and role specific questions. Occasionally, we may ask you to prepare a presentation or respond to scenario-based questions. If that’s the case, we will always let you know in advance.
This varies by role, but it often includes:
Application review
First stage interview
Final interview stage
Most interviews will take place in person, and we aim to meet every candidate face-to-face during the process. If attending in person isn’t possible, for example, if you are based overseas, we may arrange for part of the interview process to take place over Zoom.
Timelines vary depending on the role and the number of applications we receive. We aim to keep candidates informed throughout the process.
Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide feedback at the application stage. Candidates who attend an interview can request feedback, and we aim to ensure everyone who interviews with us has a positive experience.
Yes. We welcome conversations about accommodations at any stage of the application or recruitment process. This could include changes to format, interview environment, assistive technology, additional time, or other support. Please let us know what would help you and we will do our best to accommodate.
Interviewing
We recommend researching Baillie Gifford, understanding the role you have applied for, and reflecting on your relevant experience and motivation.
We reimburse reasonable interview expenses. If you are invited to attend an in-person interview, we’ll provide guidance on eligible expenses and how to claim them. If you have any questions, please speak to your resourcing specialist.
Working at Baillie Gifford
We are a highly collaborative organisation, and regular time in the office is an important part of how we work. Being together in person helps us develop ideas, support one another and sustain our culture.
Most roles are based in our office hubs for the majority of the week, with some flexibility depending on the team.
We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident in how they show up at work. We ask colleagues to dress appropriately for their working day, considering their plans and commitments.
We do not take an overly prescriptive approach, because we trust you to use good judgement and dress in a way that reflects respect for the firm, our clients and your colleagues.
If you are unsure what is appropriate for your role or circumstances, please speak with your resourcing specialist. We’ll be happy to help.
We may provide relocation support for candidates moving to take up a permanent UK-based role with us, where they are relocating from outside a reasonable commuting distance of their office location. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.
